How to Make Jank Music

In 2018 the band PWR CPL accepted The Jank Challenge. The duo came to Capitol Records in Los Angeles with less than 24 hours notice to take the challenge. Upon arrival, PWR CPL watches the "How to Make Jank Music" tutorial before diving into the challenge: creating a Jank song in 4 hours.

Racing against the clock, PWR CPL worked with Jank specialists from The Jank Guitar Store to understand the Jank music formula. Their song had to:

1. Be lead melodically and rhythmically by a guitar.
   
2. Blend 3 distinct musical styles (most commonly Reggae, Rock and Classical music).
3. Feature at least 3 musicians playing live instruments.

They chose their 3 genres (Pop, Jazz, and Hip-Hop) and set to composing their music. The song was defined by the anchor guitar part. After their guitar part was solidified, they structured beats, vocals, and percussion around the guitar centerpiece.
