Casely is the son of a Trinidadian-Chinese mother and a Panamanian father. As an artist, his work ranges from R&B to classical piano to rock to musical theater. Growing up in Miami - one of the most diverse cities on the planet - Casely was exposed to and influenced by cultures from around the world. Casely's classical piano training began at age 12 and eventually brought him to study at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
During the financial crisis of 2008 and one of the most uncertain and tumultuous periods in the history of the music industry, he partnered with the Diaz Brothers to produce an independent single, "Emotional". "Emotional" made it onto the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts and labels took notice. Casely was subsequently signed to Epic Records where he worked with artists such as Pitbull, Flo Rida, Rick Ross and DJ Khaled. His 2010 single "Move Shake Drop" was in the feature film "Easy A" starring Emma Stone.
After his tenure at Epic, Casely released a large volume of work as he honed his performance, production and writing skills as an independent artist and the frontman of the band Casely and The Jank
